Four Leaf Communications Participates in “Meet the Media” Panel at Wisconsin Small Business Academy

Four Leaf Communications founder John Laughrin recently participated in the “Meet the Media” panel during the Wisconsin Small Business Academy event in Green Bay, hosted in partnership with the Greater Green Bay Chamber.

The panel brought together local journalists and communications professionals to answer questions from business owners about how local media works, what makes a story stand out, and how businesses can more effectively connect with reporters and newsrooms.

For Laughrin, the conversation was an opportunity to share perspective from both sides of the industry. After spending 25 years in local television news, including leadership roles in multiple Northeast Wisconsin newsrooms, he now works directly with businesses through Four Leaf Communications to help them strengthen their messaging, build visibility, and earn meaningful media attention.

“One of the biggest misconceptions is that media coverage is just about sending a press release,” Laughrin said. “The businesses that consistently get attention are usually the ones that understand their audience, build relationships, and communicate clearly and authentically.”

The event featured a wide range of local businesses and entrepreneurs, along with presentations and roundtable discussions focused on finance, legal issues, technology, marketing, and media relations.

Four Leaf Communications would like to thank the Greater Green Bay Chamber and Wisconsin Small Business Academy for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in an event focused on helping local businesses grow and succeed.

Four Leaf Communications® Secures Federal Trademark Registration

Green Bay, Wis. — May 5, 2026 — Four Leaf Communications® has officially secured federal trademark registration, marking a key milestone for the Green Bay-based public relations and marketing firm founded by longtime local media leader John Laughrin.

The registration, issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, provides legal protection for the Four Leaf Communications name and brand as the company continues to grow its presence across Northeast Wisconsin.

“This isn’t just a formality,” said Laughrin, Founder and President of Four Leaf Communications. “It’s validation of the work that’s gone into building this from the ground up, and a signal that we’re here for the long term.”

Four Leaf Communications launched in 2025 after Laughrin concluded a 25-year career in local television news, including leadership roles at WLUK, NBC 26, and WFRV in Green Bay. The company works with small and mid-sized organizations to strengthen visibility, refine messaging, and connect with local audiences through public relations, advertising strategy, and media placement.

The trademark registration ensures exclusive use of the Four Leaf Communications name in connection with advertising, public relations, and marketing services, reinforcing the company’s brand as it expands its client base.

“From day one, the goal has been simple,” Laughrin said. “Help local businesses grow with clear messaging and smart, effective communication. This milestone reinforces that we’re building something real.”

The name Four Leaf Communications carries personal meaning as well. The business is named for Laughrin’s daughter, Clover, a reflection of the company’s foundation and long-term vision.

As the company continues to grow, Laughrin says the focus remains unchanged.

“We’re just getting started,” he said. “There’s a lot more ahead.”

Four Leaf Communications Nominated for New Business of the Year

Four Leaf Communications has been nominated for New Business of the Year by the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce as part of its 3rd Annual Awards and Celebration Gala.

The nomination comes during the firm’s first year of operation. Founded by longtime local news leader John Laughrin, Four Leaf Communications was created to help businesses and nonprofit organizations in Northeast Wisconsin strengthen their messaging, build visibility, and connect more effectively with the audiences they serve.

Before launching Four Leaf Communications, Laughrin spent 25 years in local television news leadership roles at WLUK, NBC 26, and WFRV. During that time, he led newsroom teams through major local and national events while building a reputation for strong storytelling and community-focused journalism.

Since its launch, Four Leaf Communications has partnered with a variety of local organizations and businesses, providing strategic communications guidance, media outreach, and targeted advertising strategies designed to help clients grow and succeed.

Laughrin says the nomination reflects the strength of the community and the relationships that helped the firm get off to a strong start.

“This recognition means a lot during our first year,” Laughrin said. “Northeast Wisconsin is filled with incredible businesses and organizations doing meaningful work. It’s been rewarding to help tell those stories and support their success.”

The De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce will announce the award winners at the Awards and Celebration Gala on April 23 at the Swan Club.

Your Ads Can Appear Here. And Only in the Right Homes.

For decades, television advertising meant paying for reach and hoping the right customer was watching.

Streaming changed that.

Streaming television advertising combines the credibility of TV with the precision of digital targeting. Organizations no longer have to pay for broad exposure and guess whether their ideal customer is in the audience. They can define exactly who they want to reach.

That shift matters.

What Streaming TV Advertising Actually Is

Streaming ads run on platforms such as Hulu, Apple TV, Roku, Peacock, ESPN, CBS, and other connected TV services.

The key difference is not the platform. It is the targeting.

With streaming, campaigns can target:

  • Specific zip codes
  • Age ranges
  • Household income levels
  • Interests and behaviors
  • Life stage signals
  • Website visitors

If an organization only serves Brown County, its ads can run only in Brown County. If its ideal customer fits a defined profile, the technology delivers the message directly to those households.

Budgets are no longer diluted across viewers who are unlikely to convert.

Streaming ads allow your organization to reach the right households on platforms like Hulu, Roku, Apple TV, Peacock, ESPN, and CBS.

Why Precision Matters

The biggest reason advertising underperforms is wasted reach.

Organizations spend money speaking to people who are not a fit for their services. That waste adds up quickly.

Streaming technology allows advertisers to define the audience first and then deliver the message only to that audience. Instead of casting a wide net, campaigns pinpoint the target.

That precision improves efficiency, performance, and measurable results.

It Is More Affordable Than Many Expect

There is a common perception that streaming television is expensive. In reality, many campaigns are structured to fit realistic budgets while still delivering meaningful impact.

Because advertisers are buying defined households rather than broad ratings, the cost per qualified impression can be significantly more efficient than traditional television.

For many organizations, streaming is more accessible than they assume.

Why Four Leaf Communications

Streaming advertising is not simply about placing an ad. It requires strategic audience definition, geographic precision, and ongoing management.

John Laughrin and Four Leaf Communications work directly with organizations to define their ideal audience, narrow geographic focus down to the zip code, align messaging with business objectives, and monitor campaign performance.

Four Leaf has become a local expert in streaming advertising by combining knowledge of the platforms with an understanding of the Northeast Wisconsin market.

The goal is simple. Do not waste money reaching people who are not for you. Reach the right households with intention.

Organizations that want to explore whether streaming television makes sense for their growth strategy can contact Four Leaf Communications to start the conversation.
